should have known, that as she slipped
into the light, cameras would caress
beneath, her now transparent dress.
a nation shared the sensation.

Pubescent face pressed to the screen,
whispered words he'd only dreamed.
She flicked her hair then tripped along,
Champagne waves broke on her tongue,
laughter’s plight, held it's self at night.

As we peered through the hour-glass
she took her last, the pain half mast,
Grotesque, undressed, bulbs still flashed.
You could easily fix up the meter as so:

The carpet kissed her shoes and lips,
we should have known, that as she slipped
into the light cameras' caress
beneath her now transparent dress.
A nation shared the rogue sensation.

Pubescent face pressed to the screen,
It whispered words he'd only dreamed.
She flicked her hair then tripped along,
The Champagne waves broke on her tongue,
her laughter’s plight, was held at night.

As we observed the hour-glass
she took her last, the pain half mast,
Grotesque, undressed, the bulbs still flashed.

of course I ellided cameras but I think that is common, if it jerks for you just remove "light" as it doesn't really add anything anyway.. There are some other issues with pronoun confusions and abruptly shifting thought train that don't really help this but the meter, at least, is easily fixed.
