First time at bat here

Something I penned about 30 years ago. Not sure why or what it was intended to be about. My mom had it under a piece of glass on her coffee table after all of these years.

I stand alone in coldness and dark.
Muscles tense , I await the dawn,
rays of warmth dispel my fear.

I suppose this may have been an ode to my time in the USAF where I worked outside and usually on the midnight shift in Montana.
