that certainly is a punch of a poem! I am not entirely sure what a 'hipster' really is, or at least their relation to abstract expressionism; I just thought they wore funny hats.
[just a ps. when I was writing my thesis at university, my initial idea was to write it about how abstract expressionism was a failure in comparison to 'figurative' painting, using Jackson Pollock [AE] and Francis Bacon [F] as contrasting painters... however, in the course of the research I actually became quite fond of Pollocks paintings and ended up dropping the idea]
