oh, I really like this one (after I read it i actually gave out a short little 'oo')
I particularly like "And when the fire has died to ash and gone,/naught but the smoky promise lingers on."
and, if i remember correctly, didn't plato expel poets from the republic?

anyhow, excellent poem, give me this over 'the republic' any day of the week.
