Hi Keith,
Your story really sucked me in and I fell completely for the obvious thought line of where this was going, so I thought it was a nice twist to play this both ways at the end. The healing didn't happen, but then the twist was a joke that’s so old, it carries its own sense of obviousness in a way.... so in the end the story was the obvious thought path. Good stereotype character portrayal to back up the twist on the obvious. (well this was how I interpreted it
