I lied to social services - it may not sound like the right choice out of context but it kept someone close to me safe from harming them self more out of everything falling apart. The lie was like a bandage till the situation healed enough to fix itself, instead of aliens coming in and taking everything away with out a full understanding of what was happening and why.
