I always have the words, it's just that the girl usually doesn't know what the fuck I'm talking about. And the very intelligent girls are...well smart enough to be in a position where it would be foolish to be seen with a bum like me.
But anyway, it's not too hard to simply ask her if she wants to hang out with you somewhere, sometime; without all the friends around trying to help out. You seem to already know each other well enough for that simple question.
It's a better idea than being up all night forming stomach ailments over time wasted and missed chances. If she says no, there'll be plenty more time for that quiet desperation.
