is fence-crawling an Antipodean thing?

erm... might be ... thanks to a barbed wire fence, I have a lovely scar on my right index finger where I tore enough skin off it to see right through to the bone. It was for a good cause though... stealing the neighbour's flowers for Mother's Day.
