i think that particular statue is a poem all on it's own.
most parents have to contend with real grief, Mary was lucky in as much as she knew her son was god and would therefore ascend into heaven. she also knew that he wasn't actually dead. oif course she could have been nothing more than deleriously hurting mother who was hiding from the fact that her son was dead as a door nail
