Don’t tell me that I’m a rigid
meter beater, somehow frigid
in emotion just because it
rhymes, keeps time and when you pause it
runs onto another line.
All the words I write are mine --
don’t assume that I’m restricted,
don’t believe that I’m addicted
to the a-b-a-b-c:
Fuck me, it’s just poetry
