on a granite ground
do you love me?

If I could love you less Love, would you know it?
The weight of the entire world is how it seems
A burden that you set for me to carry, knowing
Love in all its shapes goes to extremes.
In dreams I hold you gently as I sooth you
Your resting head content upon my breast
You sleep un-sensitized to all about us
Content that love is nearby, none the less

You ask of me the question do I love you
The kind of love with needs to be addressed
Love that grows from somewhere deep inside us
the kind of love that burns within our flesh

I loved you in the style and mode of mourning
I loved you on the day that you were born
I love you yet again now that you ask me
Now shout up tooting on your bloody horn!

I have to say to myself I enjoyed seeing this one emerge on the screen.. it was a hoot. and might be salvageable in another incarnation

If you could, could you love me? Could you
love me for something more?
Squeeze me till the juice drips, drip
drop me, not like you always do, but gentle.
lower me like an ebb, and flow your grains
