Another death has been announced: schoolboy in New York.
Killed himself on reaching home from a camping trip.
More videos will now be made on surviving childhood.
All of man's stupidity can be found in locker rooms,
playgrounds and classes. Children are animals.
Stupid, heartless savages emerging from their stone cocoons,
where deserters of the cult now train their successors.
As thought and conscience lay down roots the ape evolves into the man,
becomes concerned with food, shelter. The child is dead, the mortal born.

That last line is inspired, Jack, brilliantly insightful.
I wonder, are we really evolving? If so, into what? Every generation seems stupider than the last, or maybe it's just their parents who are stupider (which I guess would mean that every generation is stupider than the last, just once removed from the present... I'm confusing myself

)
These "training videos" concern me greatly. Just a week ago some teenager died when he fell of a highrise balcony in Brisbane... and now the do-gooders are insisting that the Department of Education make instructional videos on the dangers of drinking alcohol on balconies.
Come to think of it, maybe natural selection
is at work.
It could be worse

Thanks for the kind words and thoughts Leanne

Over time we have become more liberated, or at least those countries which can afford to have, which would imply our intelligence has grown, though we certainly seem stupider with each generation I agree.
We seem to revel in stupidity more than our ancestors, what with television broadcasting crotch shots of Britney Spears and contrived reality shows like The Littlest Groom into millions of homes across the world. Maybe that's the problem; great inventions like TV have allowed us more access and thus ability to exploit stupid people for our own amusement. There was a time when we glorified great artists and intellectuals - peasants would stand for hours in the baking sun to watch Hamlet, or so I was told by a tour guide at The Globe - but now rather than work at improving ourselves we'd rather stay as we are and make ourselves feel better by laughing at the funny thickies on TV. I know I would
