That's interesting, Todd. I'll get to it.
(content)
rushed it (sorry) have to get a hair cut and do a few posts. will throw it in serious critique at the end of the week. i thought it was a hard one one please read fir as fur ![]() Today's Colour by William Marsland. The African marigolds splashed the garden marmalade bright matching the sweltering smile of a darker sun; not that light coloured sun that dazzles, but the one that make a body drip like honey over cornflakes, thick and viscous. The colour of their flowery heads matched that of my lazy cat reclining in the shade Whose fir resembled a glowing lava flow. As devious as his animated counterpart Marmaduke: He was resting after snatching an unobservant koi from the pond. Between stretches, His belly, swollen with fish lay like a small water balloon. The mottled carcass of the dead swam among what granddad called his “Papaver orientale” “Their oriental poppies “ I’d tell him. He’d smile at my words light his meerschaum and tell me; “get fucked” The once fire topped twins played tea party on a tartan blanket. Hours, years in the sun (six) had tempered their burning hair dulled the flames to a lighter ember, that matched their freckled faces. They chatted like old ladies while offering each other crumpets and cake Soon they’d explode into the irate Irish vixens they were, with expletives learned from an ageing grouch of a grandfather who took great pleasure in hearing them curse.

In philosophy right now....it's been going on for three hours.....
I'll see when I can get on it. I've decided on white.

white and philosophy would be good partners lol
So, I may be skirting the edge of the prompt. I started to free associate about the color I layer on a story then I layer on another story. Sometimes I think I'm out of my mind. I don't know about the rest of you, but my creativity goes to weird places. (Hopefully now that this draft is out of my system I can start critiquing...I get a little OCD when I'm writing).
Hood Look at this tangle of thorns—Nabokov Hunger is a breathless dance of teeth, the smell of these bricks, I stink of it. Prick to the sound of a sanguine skip, her hum a mouthful of bees. The taste of innocence is sweet cherries on the tongue. Licks across those candy apple lips. This bag of raw meat, slick droplet, budding rose, this not little girl. Hair like the blood moon in a tangle of thorns, a violent cascade Who could see and claim her an ingénue? The liquid color of desire in pale naked light the smell of mutton, dribbling wine. The path meant to walk away from— generations will fill my stomach. No longer hooded, breath a rasping whetstone against my sharp angles. So big, so big, today is different.
