Oh my gosh this just brought back a horrible childhood memory for me.
I was about 7 years old and had a friend over to play with me. I can't remember how we got to pulling the legs off of a daddy-long-legs spider but we did.
We were laughing uncontrollablly as we watched the dismembered legs twitch in our palm. My dad, hearing the laughter came to see what was up.
My girlfriend ended up being sent home and I was sent to my room for the remainder of the day after a long speech about cruelty. The memory of what I did haunted me for many years.
You give to the world when you're giving your best to somebody else.

Yeah, kids have a tendency to pick things apart usual not from any real cruelty (though there really are some mean kids) but out of innocent curiosity and fascination. This is a combination of cute and creepy...
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

I love this sort of poetry. Minimalist and observant. Has shades of Richard Brautigan.
"We believe that we invent symbols. The truth is that they invent us; we are their creatures, shaped by their hard, defining edges." - Gene Wolfe
