i agree. the down side to such a popular site is that when something goes down, it can seem like the end of the world.

Anyway, when the tracker stats are down it's not too bad. In general a torrent file will have more than one tracker on it so downloading it (in a fair few cases it's the only torrent you can find) should reveal if the swarm is alive and how many seeders/leechers it has (roughly).
Much more tragic when the site itself goes down  .
