A friend said i’ve lost the plot on the last part of the poem
i don’t really want an evaluation of these verses,
Just whether i have lost the plot. lol
I’m very new to poetry
My mate was complimentary on other parts of the poem i think. lol
So my question is
Have i lost the plot with this below
or
does it have something, however little to develop ?
thank you
comforting and wise with simple truths
The book was thought provoking,
Now utterly unique and loved around the world
The conscious mind it would be evoking
Kahlil never saw the popularity of his book
sold a thousand the year that it was printed
Forty years later selling five thousand copies a week
The Popularity was unprecedented
He was diagnosed with an enlarged liver
Told not to work for a full year
He found that more painful than the illness
But he knew his end was near
He died sadly on the 10th of April
St Vincent’s hospital aged 48
He refused the last rites on religious grounds
Not knowing if it was destiny or fate
The popularity of “The Prophet” grew
Through America’s first decade of freedom
Translated in 100 languages
A timeless book of Truth and Wisdom
