A Natural Remedy
I wanted to tell you
about a problem I had,
but got distracted
when a bird bounced
off my window.
It was an ordinary jay
who appeared
to be OK
when I looked outside
to check on it.
Momentarily startled
as me, it fully recovered
and just flew away.
But it made me forget
what I first meant to say.

The best solution to problems is forgetting them, in my opinion.

Love this. Bugger was probably trying to take yer head off. Jays can be quite nasty. (guessing this is at least a somewhat true story)
P.S. I'm quite religious about "okay" over "OK" - and don't get me started about ampersands in poetry - not that any of that matters in fun forums.
Glad you're both okay!

I like how the reader’s attention moves from the problem, to the bird, to worrying about the bird, to relief…in the end, forgetting that the poem began with something about a problem
The bird bouncing off the window was star(t)ling
Good one
