Eyephobia 2
#1
House is a trigger for kitchen
is a trigger for drawer
is a trigger for a knife I keep
in the back--
comfortably tucked under some
old take-out napkins.

Once I see it, the thought comes.
Once the thought comes,
the thought will come again.
I’ve thought of it so it will come again.
It itches.

I look to needles; I want to feel a prick
at the center of my eye.

It itches, and sandpaper helps--
but the grits are small enough to
sprinkle surprise.

I see it in my head,
like a secret cinema showing.
$7.25 matinee.
I’ve seen this movie before.

I want to play stabby.

The blade cringes
as it imagines
sliding down as a wedge
between an eye and a socket.

I bleed and bleed
but the audience weeps for me.

"The blade" perhaps? No period after "showing".

"Sliding down, a wedge between an eye and a socket."

I'm not sure what the intent is, but I am sure it doesn't pull it off.

best,

dale
How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

Noted. What do you think the intent is?

Hi why- just pointing out the words that stabbed me deepest in the socket.
