I did not say much

I did not say much
At my dad's
Or my mom's
Or my sister's
Or my brother's

But I do visit
From time to time

To talk
To the wind

And like the wind
for no apparent reason
we carry on
but unlike it
until we don't.

Mark, love how you've broken this up. I also like how the first line proves out throughout the poem. The speaker skirts around loss and pain and there are simply no words for the act of separation. The final lines are also quite moving. The speaker can say the things now to the wind but there is not a sense that he believes there is truly a connection. It is wistful and bleak. Tight, compact, and poignant.

It's well done.

Best,

Todd
