I'm looking to make a collection out of the stuff I've done so far -- not all of them, as there's plenty not worth publishing, although to publish is not necessarily my goal here. Since I have smelled that some of y'all have experience, any tips? anecdotes? words of warning?

I've thought of pulling some stuff together but it stays on my procrastination list. Hopefully someone might have some tips but I'd starting with sorting out your favorites.

however you do it whatever you pieces you pick, do it for the fun of it, have no expectations and be frugal with your costs. ask friends to help with cover artwork and don't overfill your pages.

I know from submitting work around that a lot of publications want unpublished work. Keeping that in mind, if you self-publish a collection, then those pieces are considered published, meaning some publications won't accept them for submission anymore. Just something to keep in mind.

I've often found the best place for me to collect and compile my work is onto toilet paper. The ink just takes the shit so well.
Nah you can put it on Google drive and give your friends the link; let them help you edit and arrange the stuff. Or you can agonize over the arrangement in solitude like a good poet would do.

Are you looking to publish on kindle? I’ve been thinking of doing it as well, not with my poems, but my political manifesto.

Get the poems to play off each other. You may notice that : Yeats and also Stevens. You may notice that their poems don't make a lot of sense outside of poems that were published along side each other. They expect you, if you post a poetry thing, to match up. . . . This is further exclaimed in The X-Files, season 2, episode 9. I know that my own personal opinions mean nothing to nobody.
You gotta make your own connections. You have to write your own bible. . . . And hold on a second. . . .

Now . . . After a certain thing
Is the poetry good? You always have to top the bigshots. But they'll never know; you just to have to aim you poetry good. And let each thing play off each otherd. . . . Hold on . . .
