GREY POUPON
Challenge: write a rhyming poem using the word Grey Poupon. Bonus points if it's relevant to all the baggage attached to the term; more bonus points if it's a sonnet, a villanelle, a pantoum, a rap song, or a multi-book epic poem in heroic couplets; even more bonus points if you post a video of a performance of it.

Booty Call on Sandwich Night
She doesn't hold a pride of place
in my refrigerator door,
and mostly wears a crusty face
like she's past her 'best before'
but when the luncheon meat is cheap
and all the mayonnaise is gone
admittedly, I sometimes reach
for the lonely jar of Grey Poupon.
I warm to her by microwave,
and bologna on a kaiser
may not be quite the feast I crave
but lo! she is none the wiser.
Her spice is dulled, her name is Grey
but still, she's chill for rainy days.

Burnin down a crack house
from a slow moving chair,
sound is low an fat now
the calm is unprepared.
Caged inside my Arnage
tints down with shades on,
tracers light the carnage
reload the Grey Poupon.
If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

the girl had been born in dijon
her fathers named her grey-poupon
she left france for the cash

three limericks
(about fancy-schmancy mustard)
1.
A fella with his groove-on
dips pretzels in Grey Poupon
he enjoys such rich treats
after limos in the street
offered samples
and a two-for-one coupon
2.
A frugal Amma from Old Ceylon
cleans up jars of used Poupon,
to store fresher tastes of curry
for spicy dinners in a hurry,
look! already, her stone soup's on!
3.
Offer a free jar I might take it,
though I know that you can fake it:
Squirt some French's with a mix,
blend soaked seed (dash of wine, in a fix),
is the fastest way to make it.
*afterthought note
hahaha! these seemed so clever and made so much sense when I wrote them, now I'm like, wha-?!

nibbed, concerning your afterthought note: i think they do make sense, maybe only need some adjustments in meter (not that i am in the place to make a pledge for that).

Thanks for the input. I am going to tinker with them.
I remember the Grey Poupon commercials when I
was younger, whoever thought them up was brilliant!
Seems everyone relates that mustard to wealth now.

Um...Vaga,
after reading your response several times, I didn't want to ask at first, but now I am perplexed and must...what does "(not that i am in the place to make a pledge for that)", mean? Is that some sort of three-musketeer/troubadour/poet in white puffy sleeves talk? Just wondering...I think you do fine writing poems, critiquing, and commenting, BTW. I thank you for your kind offerings.
