ha, no, no real money, i’m afraid. it’s all metaphorical.

Oh well, metaphorically speaking, if a critic offers gold, and a writer sees only dust, there's little to be done.

A critique on a poem is offered from the terms of the critic's experience. It's up to the writer to accept that, and to evaluate it in terms of their own experience.

No hard-and-fast rules in poetry.
