Heed The Call
#1
As I was heading to the mall,
the scene allowed my mind to mull
over the fast approaching fall.
For now, the foliage, green and full,
waved lightly in the wind. The gall
of an incorrigible gull
to steal my half eaten cheese ball -
MY CHEESE BALL - rendered total bull
all opposition to a call
for strict control.  It's time to cull.

Haha, reminds me of Visions of Johanna:

"He’s sure got a lotta gall to be so useless and all
muttering small talk at the wall while I’m in the hall"

I've never eaten a cheese ball, but it sounds terrific.

An excuse to use the word gall in a sentence. Dang I forgot about hall and hull time for a rewrite.

"bull" and "cull" felt kind of first, but I laughed out loud at "MY CHEESE BALL"!!!

It feels so random, but also is a thing that would totally happen at a mall. Fun poem!
And so it goes :-)

I used to think cheese balls were only good when horseradish and nuts were mixed in. Smile

Cute poem.
there's always a better reason to love
