And yet the shitting tangerine is the thirteenth trump, while the queen, though missed a number of marks, is at the very least as bad as the minor arcana she is. One great mistake versus a million million mistakes, some of them equally great: when was this comparison even made? For the stars and stripes, Yeats' note holds now more than ever: the worst (and how great the worst: make no mistake, democracy never worked without a rallying point) are full of passionate intensity. About as intense as an atom bomb.
I'd rather take a grenade than an atom bomb -- fine, a sourer pomegranate.

I've taken a "sourer pomegranate", couldn't shit for weeks. Better than an A-bomb. That just turns you into a big ash, just like Lot's wife.
