No Taste of Honey
I had a honey, she tasted like spice,
oh my honey was so damn nice,
but now my honey has gone away,
I feel so depressed, I just might turn gay.
Chorus:
Without my honey, this world's gone bland,
Without my honey, it just taste like sea sand,
yeah sure it's salty, but that's as far as it goes,
there's no hint of spice, tickling my nose.
I tried cross dressing, but felt just like a fool,
some guy he used me, as though I were his tool,
now I'm feeling hurt, in more ways than one,
pleasure is fleeting, even while it is fun.
Chorus:
So now I wander up this lonely avenue,
My minds in a haze all because of you,
and though I know you won't be coming back again,
it's really not fair caused it wasn't me who sinned.
But still each day, I'm the one who pays the price,
I think I've seen you, maybe once or twice,
but I know you're not in this or any other town,
you've been sewed up and your six feet under ground.
Chorus:
erthona

Of course this just made me a little sad.
I think there is grammatical issue with the comma after .."but I know". Also, the your should be you're. While I stir this fire without wearing gloves, should it be sewn up?
Just be happy you can't hear me try to sing.

Thanks Mike, I have made the adjustments.
"sewed up" dialect R&B, Blues. If it were proper English yes, but I am not striving for proper English, striving contextual English. So I think "sewed" stays, but otherwise good catch.
Thanks for the help.
Yes, it is very easy to put music to. It's funny you should say beehives as this is a bit of a tribute to Amy Winehouse. The cords primarily go emin amin B (each line), then on the chorus amin emin B. of course one can through a c7 or just a c in there. The B should be bared and at various spots can be walked up to the c then down to the amin, there is all kinds of improv ops in there.
Glad you found it singable.

Got less honey than hoped.
Singable, but like I said, be glad you can't here me try. Never got around to listening to Amy Winehouse.

Woah, had one of those this song is my life right (minus the cross dressing) now moments. Fun song, sounds to me like a blues song, maybe folk. I like the way to describe how people act after break up's or loss, acting out as to fill something that you lost. I like how light heart'd and simple the song reads, great flow and rhythm, as well as fun! Anyways thanks for the read! Haha would love to figure out how to play this
