[Weeded]

Beautiful. Just beautiful.
I can't not look in her eyes
and she knows it.
Her every step is a strategic placement,
everywhere I go is her directly across,
staring at me with eyes of admiration,
but frustration.

I speak with body language,
she speaks in English.
"Do you wanna sit here?"
"No, thank you."
"Alright..."

If only she knew why I won't speak.
I want to grab her by the arms and shout:
"Fool! I have nothing to offer you!"
I want also to whisper in her ear:
"You make my day, and by the way
I love your scarf." I want to shower her
with compliments and I have too many I could say...

But compliments are not enough. Words
are not enough. Love is menial
in a world governed by material.
Unless I stumble across a pot of gold,
you'll simply remain one of my many regrets when I grow old.

This is a very real struggle that is relatable in many ways to our current generations. This is unfortunate as it has been fueled by media. I like this poem as it brings a real truth to the strife many men feel when attempting to speak with or thinking about a woman. Thanks for sharing this.
