rant, rant, rant.

leave a rant, leave two, three or more and they will be discussed here.

i've just done 5 posts where the newb left no feedback and yet begged or pleaded for feedback on their work, (okay not all pleaded or begged, but it is the reason they posted.)

read the rules, the rules that are really easy to find. if you don't want to read the rules or contribute to the site in some way other than force feeding us your poetry, piss off somewhere else.

it will get to the point where any thread in the newly registered forum where the opening post has a 0 post count will be deleted, no messing about, just a quick deletion. post replies in the newly registered forum by all means but if the post count is zero, after a few hours your replies there will be in vain. no rules being posted. this is it, the Final Countdown, Armageddon, End of Days, Apocalypse Now. by god people show some common decency. all cries of "i don't know how to five feedback" will go unheeded = ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH................

When you are amazed at the writing, and your jaw drops to the floor like Elmer Fudd ogling Bugs Bunny in a strapless cocktail dress.

Ask yourself, does the writer need a comment of praise that says nothing, that makes them wonder if you're checking of a post count box? If so, don't post.

Would be happy with your throwaway comment if applied to your poem? If so, don't post, you're an attention whore.

But I don't know how to critique you may say. Not buying it. If you can explain why your service in a restaurant is good or bad, or do an amazon review. You can critique a poem.
If the only restaurant you eat at is Taco Bell you may not have a lot to say, but you still should make the effort and expand your palette.

But I only want comments on my own poems. People should give me what I'm unwilling to give. If so, you're a parasite. Please attach yourself to some other unfortunate site. We neither want or need you.

If you truly read poems and still think, this one is something special--it's rare but it happens, give a real critique and perhaps suggest that we spotlight the poem for its excellence. We don't always agree, but diamonds in a field of dung are hard to ignore.

So, in short don't be a narcissist, don't check a box, no one is fooled. Make the attempt. If you won't then leave.

Oh, and quit making passes at rabbits in stilettos--pervs!
The secret of poetry is cruelty.--Jon Anderson

And please, if you take offense when a mod politely points out that your one-line comment is not adequate critique, just log out and don't come back. Snotty responses are clearly against the rules and a bannable offense. We don't want to ban you just because you're a baby, you might mature someday. If thinking long and hard about poems is not your style, you've chosen the wrong site, find one that suits you.

And billy, stop stealing my aaarrrggggghhhh, I need it.

i already got rid of about 6 threads where the poet gave no feedback elsewhere. . if they're older than a day and have given no feedback they will be deleted, and all the feedback that was given to them as well.
so please don't waste time giving feedback to poets with a zero post count.

I'm deleting as well. Anyone who's devastated by that can please address their complaints to billy or myself.

Good luck with that.
