Well there’s Roger’s and Hammerstein’s "Cinderella",
I know I shouldn’t like it cause I’m a fellow,
but the first time I saw it I was but eight,
I thought that Lesley Ann Warren was great.
The truth was I had a bit of a crush,
in fact I loved her ever so much,
that’s where for me love did first start,
well as much as can be held in a little boy’s heart.

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?

The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

Dorothy fell victim to a storm;
into Land of Oz she was borne.
A bad witch she killed,
the locals were thrilled
and to her they were friendly and warm.

The scarecrow conferred with the flowers
as he whiled away all the hours
up on his stick,
he thought he was thick,
sought out the wizard in his tower.

The tin man was rusted and stuck
in position, but fortunate luck
brought heroine
who oiled his seams;
for a heart he then went to look. .

The lion, he wanted to be braver
than he was in his current behavior-
the yellow brick road
he with Dorothy strode,
the wizard might yet be his savior.

For a brain, heart and hero's bravery
To the wizard they came seekingly.
He told them they harbored
the things they were after
right there inside them already.

(the movie is not even in my top 25 favorites,
nonetheless it sparked this for NaPM 20)

Apocalypto

Is it rational decision,
or simply an appalling choice,
to confront the fierce black feline
or risk the obsidian knife.

I’d rather run nude in forests
with white orchids and painted frogs,
than dress up in beaded clothing
and live in stony, blood-stained Halls.

I’ll risk the instinct of the beast
before the base verdict of man.
The jaguar's demands are primal
without need for false sacrifice.

This still needs a lot of work, it is still in concept stage but posted it for now as is.

Yesterday ...again today.

I got you babe – What will Punxsutawney Phil see? ...Get up and check that hog!
Let’s live in the mountains and read French poetry. Holding at Gobbler’s Knob,
do you have a sense of déjà-vu ? I could check in the kitchen for you.
It’s a dozy, Ned the head! Watch out for that first step. Don’t mind if I do

let live in the mountains. Let’s read French poetry holding Gobbler’s Knob.
First a spot of ice sculpting before I help the homeless and enter an auction or two,
it’s a dozy. Ned the head, watch out for that first step! I don’t mind if I do -
I’ll Catch a brat, change a tyre, rob a bank and buy some rocky road.

First a spot of ice sculpting, before I help the homeless and enter an auction or two
but no white chocolate today. We should toast world peace and play in the snow.
I’ll Catch a brat, then change the tyre. Rob a bank and buy some rocky road.
Race the red truck on rough roads – I don’t think Phil knows how to drive.

I held Lesley Ann Warren dear in my loins too. I remember her best from 'Mission Impossible,' but you should see her now. She is still a knock-out at age 67. Thumbsup

The Greatest Trick

Is to ignore French poets
in their babbling about the existence
of evil.

We always look for someone,
arrange our lineup
to ferret out the guilty.

With sin we have become broken
cups rejecting our maker.

The trick is not a matter of belief,
but that we ignore what our eyes see

and listen to his voice.
The secret of poetry is cruelty.--Jon Anderson

What could be more adorable than the thought of love burgeoning in a little boys heart?

Reliant Robin Super Van III

I used to complain that dad didn’t invent,
he had no contraptions or any intent,
nothing he did could keep me content.

He lived in his garage for nearly a week,
and built me a car that needed a tweak,
friends helped my push it up the street.

All of sudden and to my surprise,
I got me a girl to sit by my side,
out on picnics and scenic drives.

Upon the cliff tops on that ill-fated day,
the steering column went the wrong way,
over the edge to our deaths some would say.

But as we plunged to our final fling,
Toot sweets she began to sing,
and then the car grew fibreglass wings.

If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

Moonstruck, screenplay by John Patrick Shanley

"We are here to ruin ourselves and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and die."

The winter air of my hometown
can slap a grin on any face;
fine snow in streetlights angling down
can cast a spell on time and space.
No one's surprised when brother or sis
arrives in the morning preoccupied
with last night's newfound mister or miss,
all foggy brained and dreamy eyed.
We glance back over shoulders, laugh
to see our crazy zigzag tracks;
an alternating EKG graph
from barely beating to heart attacks.
Our family portraits with changing mates
make interesting viewing for current dates.
