I chased hertil she caught me,
 and found that
 I was stuck:
 until she
 found another.
 Thank goodness
 for my luck!

How long after picking up the brush, the first masterpiece?
The goal is not to obfuscate that which is clear, but make clear that which isn't.

		Pals
Poor Rupert did not show well,
 pet adoption days were hell.
 He'd shiver and howl,
 crawl under a towel
and wait to return to his cell.

Then he moved to a foster home
with a buddy who loved to roam.
 They became quite the pair,
 running round on a tear
with an urge to explore the unknown.

Bud had eyes seekers couldn't forget
in the thumbnails on findpets dot net.
 He captured a heart
 but the two couldn't part,
 they'd become an inseparable set.

So now with adoption days done
Rupert lives having fun in the sun.
 He became a lap cat,
 who would have thought that
 he'd become the affectionate one.

		Druids and drinkers
 We spent all day
 spread soft on woolen threads
 bike helmets sided pillowed heads,
 posing with corn stalks
 on our lazy lovers rug.

 The grass was cut Victorian,
 clover cooled our summer cheeks,
it took me a day of drinking,
to find the Druid her fourth leaf.

I placed it as a pendent
 to her yellow white-green chain,
wore it crowned a hippy chick,
that fed on bags of fingered chips,
 cradled in her lotus legs,
 whilst evening air
 slapped straight our heads.

But the night had brought me more,
 wobbling onto twisted slats,
we sat in the balm sipping beer gardens,
and still I thought it safe to ride
and hear the groans of bone and blood,
 smashed into steel, just parked,
no one sat behind the wheel.

I'd slipped inside a tarmac curve,
 you woke with swollen limbs
 but ligaments would mend enough
 for Monday morning limps.
You believed its luck ran out,
not much left inside the leaf,
just enough to get you home,
 my stem required a wreath.

If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

The wedding couple wrung their handsthey had not ordered the ham,
 nor the six extra salads;
tuna, rice, green leaves, mixed bean,
feta cheese and tomato/ bacon / peas.
When they had counted the costs,
potato and pie and a home brew toast
had left just enough to fuel the bike to Scotland
where they could bum B&B from the in-laws.

At the bar the guests quaffed Pale Ale,
spirits and fine whiskey, all of which flowed
 down cash strapped gullets,
like cousin Jesus was attending the wedding.
The bar staff poured with gay abandon
and as the day turned down the bed sheets,
the depth of the jars were really tested.

By 7pm the semi derelict hall hotel
was officially full; the day time guests did not drift off
as expected. Granny retired to her room...but not to sleep,
she had found a pack of cards and some Highland park
and then all the usual rent-a-crowd turned up.
The jazz quartet, booked by the hour to play some couth sounds
before they dined, were engaged in a battle of the bands
with the disco man. They stuck to their station
(by the bar) and both refused to yield.

At 11pm the family agreed the couple should leave.
They formed a wall of flesh that squeezed and clasped
meringue clad breasts and offered well oiled tips.
Suspicious at last, the best man, a Para Captain,
was found in the kitchen, he was having a blast,
securing supply lines for Granny in her gambling den.
Best man waved his arm at the owner who was flurishing
a catering can of fruit cocktail and mentioned
something about a hotel sale and a stock take at 12pm.

 After the formalities were done,
the best party anyone could ever recall
went on till 4am. Four miles away
the wedding couple finally sat down
 slightly stunned
and briefly wondered if they could return. .

This is more of a story than a poem but it is my true good luck story. When we spoke to the owner on our return, he said that he had been afraid to tell us that the Hotel had sold after we had made the booking in case we cancelled and that in fact the exchange day was the day after...and then when the incoming owners had been gitty about the value of the wet stock and kitchen inventory he had had a sense of humour faiiure and gave it to our wedding rather than let the new owners steal it from him. (He also reported he had had the best party ever...we should have gone back!)

Jupiter’s my ruling planet, I’m under Sagittarius. It features highly in my chart, it’s said to impress
upon us all an interest in the philosophies,
 religion, higher learning and spirituality.
But mostly Jupiter is known for luckiness in life
supposed to bring good fortune and keep you out of strife-
it all seems rather unlikely (Astrology’s a mess)
but from the way I’ve turned out and my life-long luckiness
it seems to me that the planet my life is busy blessing
and that is why to me Jupiter is most impressing.
