it seems every lap top and pc i borow has no spell check on it. i don't get much time to edit because of various reasons and so if i put a poem up there will be some spelling mistakes as well as some pretty rough poetry. when i rush my spelling goes to shit. does anyone else have this problem?

I use firefox which has a built in spellchecker. Like it just put a red squiggly line under "Firefox" cause it thinks it should be capitalized. I'm a horrid speller, primarily due to my dyslexia, but mostly do to laziness. I really like it, because I write light poems on the fly, as well as all replies and messages, so it keeps me from having to take it to word to spell check it. Plus, I hate inept exploder (ie). Tongue Now if there were only a comma checker, I'd be set.

what about an iPhone? System wide spell check and fits in your pocketSmile

plus, the people you borrow laptops from a lucky, then. Anyone letting me borrow their laptop will have a different wallpaper, screensaver, piratebay linked in favorites bar, Utorrent downloaded and shortcut to task bar, Cubase (on PC), Logic Pro 9 (Mac), Blonde on Blonde in their itunes library, and about three thousand Trojan viruses quarantined after five minutes Smile

oh, and if they are using windows 8 I just spit at them.

Yah, now that you bring it up, I have also had problems with your spelling but I'm too polite to mention it.

I am like Dale, Firefox does automatic spell-checking and even allows you to build a dictionary of the words missing from it lexicon as they are encountered.

On mobile, however: Android - you would need an add-on for Firefox/Chrome or an app for your input device (on the mobile) / Apple - as someone already mentioned, you wouldn't need anything else as it is a built in feature.

On tablets or laptops, you can still just get the latest Firefox.

I use a spellchecker called 'TinySpell'. Just LOVE it.
Once you install it, any windows program you have has
an excellent spellchecker. There's a free version that's
all you need, but there's also a pay version with more
stuff that costs $10. And there's portable version
(both free and $10) that installs to a flashdrive so
you can use it on computers you can't install it on
and that takes your custom dictionary with you.

It doesn't install with any pesky adware and it's been
around a while and is totally safe to install (just
remember to download it from the official site).

And no, I don't have any connections with them,
I just love their product.

The Tinyspell Site and some additional specs from
their site are in this spoiler:
http://tinyspell.com

tinySpell (totally free - no adware/spyware/nagware/etc.)
Checks spelling in any Windows application
Checks spelling on-the-fly (alerts if the last typed word was misspelled)
Checks spelling of text that is copied to the clipboard
Allows you to specify applications for which tinySpell is disabled or enabled
Allows you to add words to the dictionary
Optionally beeps on error (beep sound can be easily set to any wav file)
Optionally displays a spelling tip (see example)
Opens replacements list with a simple mouse click or a hot-key
Optionally copies the selected replacement word to the clipboard
Optionally inserts the selected replacement word into the document
Provides easy access to on-line web services
(Search, Dictionary, Thesaurus, Encyclopedia) (see here)
Easy Enable/Disable
Uses very few resources
