The idea being that a writer who had demonstrated a commitment to the site would have the opportunity to have a poem posted anonymously to see what type of critique the poem would receive free from ego. The idea would no be to post anonymously all the time or to take away from the regular critical forums but rather for an occasional posting.

can we comment on this poll anonymously?........
---what do you mean by "posting critiquing option" that possible critiques can be anonymous?
I think the idea could catch grounding. There might need be a posts requirement though.
I once told this blond chick to screw in a light bulb..
She got naked and asked "how do I get in it?"

Good callout - yes, there would be requirements. I am thinking minimum 50 posts with a healthy comment ratio and at least some history of taking feedback and using it to revise a poem.
No anonymous critiquing, but you would be critiquing a poem without having any idea who the author was. Might even be fun to take a guess I think.

Yeah, the curiosity of who the poet is makes for a draw. 50 post's seems sufficient as most poets who don't critique eventually go away or are three day banned. would the poem be for serious workshopping? or just any type of critique? maybe a guideline of the type of critique were looking to attain would be good too.

These finer details can be worked out if there is enough interest.
Good questions though. You are really earning those hugs!!

yes, on the proviso that after ex amount of time the poet is revealed. and that no one tries to guess the fuckin poet..otherwise the threads would be full od "is it such and such" okay is thingy bob" etc

I'm new but I agree with this 100%, many people like to write things and posting anonymously to have unbiased feedback would be fantastic. I do agree with billy though that you shouldn't be allowed to flood the thread with guesses on who the poet could be, or perhaps that could be a game that is created in another forum (just a thought).

i've been away more than i wanted to but i'm back for decent while again, i'm not sure how we could have an anonymous forum. i will look into it. and i'd much prefer a 100 posts in order to participate via posting a poem. i think the feedback has to come from a named person in order to stop lots of nasty shite being posted. i'll look into it

If you can't master the technicalities, a low-tech way of doing it would be to simply have participants send their submissions to a mod or administrator, for posting. If that means there would be a waiting list, then so be it. But in that case I don't think 100 posts would be enough. The more seasoned sticker-arounders would be least likely to spam the admins with endless submissions. Also, there should be maybe a one-per-month limitation. if the mods know, it gives the mods an unfair knowledge. while we will know whose anon we won't know which anon posted.
my idea is to just send those who want it, the password for a member called anon or some other way not yet devised .
Quote:It should also be up to the author whether the identity is ever revealed, regardless of the outcome.(We could even have "by anonymous" spotlights, which would give the site some character and intrigue.)
i think that's fair
Quote:*Not necessarily the moderation, but the submissions, so that the members may have a couple options from which to choose their confidant. Also, it should be a given that the mod or admin who posts the poem, and knows who the author is, shouldn't comment on it.
my way allows everyone to post a reply
my main question is this, do we have a separate forum for annon and my way means anyone could remove it maybe the asking a mod way is the best. using the prefix annon

I voted no...ppl already know that I am harsh and bitchy, if I did that anonymously, it would look weird.

it's a bit harder than i anticipated, and i really don't want mods to be overrun with anon requests, so at present i'm still looking into it.

I can only see it working as a planned event, recurring monthly or annually etc., rather than an ongoing forum.
Maybe just one mod then. Perhaps when, and if, a mod gets time, they can announce that they will be accepting anon poems for a specific period of time, then when that time is up they can post them all in milo's forum simultaneously for crit, and possibly a round of guessing ... idk .. just some thoughts.

I'm new to this forum; but intend to stay. I absolutely think this is a great idea.
