How do you view the world?
#1
Well after reading some poems on here and not knowing what half of them are talking about let's me know I'm not as good as you guys! Haha. Here's a short piece I wrote yesterday, just the world in my eyes

Ghouls are frowned
A world where the cruel is crowned
Hatred fuels the crowds
And dealers rule the pools that drown
Cycles of fools go 'round
A place where no rules are found
I've pulled my pounds
But this weight may push me through the ground

Why does everyone have such a negative view of people and crowds?

I would think having the capability to transform emotions into fuel is positive.

It's not meant towards all people or crowds. This piece is about addiction which I once lived. When you let your mind get to the level of addiction, that world is extremely dark.

I think those are other pools, ruled by dealers, possibly related or unrelated to the fuel producing crowds

This poem brings out the emotion of fatigue from being weighted down by the shit society can pour down us, whether it's the evening news or the economy or doing business with people who are only concerned about their wallets and nothing else.

I like when it gets dark. But I don't like pools or dealers. Or emotions

Pools are OK, but I am on vacation. I actually stopped by a book dealer while I was here and it was OK too. Not that big on the dark but that may be due to overexposure (to the dark)

They haven't yet invented book dealers where I'm from. I don't think they'll bother now since we have Amazon.

They are not so bad. I worked as a salesman for a bit when the economy was in the downstroke. Free coffee. Not a lot of work.

Everyone uses their driveway as a used car lot here. And everyone has used car dealer experience. Except for me. I can't drive, or swim. That's why I don't like pools.

No one really swims in pools anyway, they just sort of wade around. Learning is easy anyway, I see 4 year olds doing it and they are not very bright. As for driving, better off not learning IMO, as soon as you do you most likely just drive.away.

Your problem isn't not knowing half; it's thinking the other half actually say something.

I like the poem; its syncopated rhyming is excellent.
Also the line:

"Cycles of fools go 'round"
I love the way you've hidden complexity in simplicity.
