In an Empty Chapel
#1
This poem came upon me when I was sitting in an empty chapel. So I whipped out my poetry notebook and started writing.

In an empty chapel
I sit all alone
Wondering what has happened
But I guess I've always known
If something is too good to be true it probably is
Nothing could be more lonely than this

In an empty chapel
I've really given up
This road I'm on
Has gotten too tough
My mind doesn't feel mine
My hands are too rough
Far too many days and nights
Spent on something that's not right

In an empty chapel
I sit all by myself
I question why I can't possibly
Ask for some help
I'm sure someone knows what I'm going through
But I'll never know the truth
Or even where it comes from
Even if it's you

This chapel seems colder now
The sky is turning red
I see now that my faith is finally dead.

I enjoy the connection to "empty chapel" and "faith dead"... the poem as I read the title is how I expected the outcome. If I were to give critique, it is difficult to say, because it is a different style then how i write, but try to invovle the reader more into what you are feeling and experiencing. For them to understand this loss of faith.

Your symbolism is very in depth, my biggest critique is that it's somewhat choppy sounding, something doesn't flow quite right. But very nice Smile
