Long Lost
#1
Long lost are
Values and virtues
Long live the ways
Of the wicked and forgotten

Lost are the ways
We used to play
Lost are the things
We used to say

Living are baleful leaders
Who all have their own agenda
Living are docile children
Sleeping in dire situations

Lost is the potential
Of all our new youth
Lost is the will
To make a change

Growing is misguided hate
Created by media lies
Growing is the robotic minds they create
Made for us to die

Dying are strong minds
With no intrest helping
Dying are the last ones
Who could untie these binds

The poem is on the surface of something that could go much deeper. And 'interest'.

I agree - the poem offers a window for a lot more depth!

Unfortunately, I'm not able to give advise on how to strengthen the poem. But I really think there is lots and lots of potential in it :-) If you're gonna revise it, I'll look forward to read :-)

as others have said, there are seeds in your poem for a better poem. i'd suggest cutting most of it away

Youth's lost potential
lost will.

is one way to go. but i also think such statements need fleshing out in a follow stanza. pose the question show us why it's asked, show us how to deal with it or why it can't be dealt with.
do think like a sandibrook shooting play a part of the reason, or child labour, is it politically based.
