A Vow Of Absence
#1
Sinister lips, intoxicated by the scents,
a brash and sexual crime.
Soaking free and far from firmament,
a passion at her prime.

She lights a purple flame,
Angelica’s saint, shaken from grace.
Clinging tightly to sin-smeared innocence,
and an everlasting place.

Falling, degradation,
to the core of fervent faith.
Hiding from the bitter winds,
of the Lord’s indignant breath.

Searching for forgiveness,
on tarnished wood grain pews.
The father keeps her warm at night,
many nights outweigh the few.

She lights a purple flame, this confused me, however most things do
Angelica’s saint, shaken from grace.
Clinging tightly to sin-smeared innocence, is sin- needed?
and an everlasting place.

Falling, degradation,
to the core of fervent faith.
Hiding from the bitter winds,
of the Lord’s indignant breath.

Searching for forgiveness,
on tarnished wood grain pews. I like that they are now tarnished it adds weight to the mood
The father keeps her warm at night,
many nights outweigh the few.

This left me feeling quite sad my interpretation has changed a couple of times on reading but thats me, I see a fall from grace due to a sexual encounter followed by forgiveness that was never in doubt. A couple of bits above, really enjoyed your poem. TOMH

If your undies fer you've been smoking through em, don't peg em out

Thanks for the feedback. This type of mood was a new experience for me and the meaning seemed to take on its own path as I wrote. I am happy that you liked it.
