First light
We thought this day would never come. Daily we visit the vineyards, only to find that there was nothing to see yet. This season has crept up on us, slowly unfolding, tardy to our eyes and yet somehow we are now surprised it has arrived. O happy day…Today! We nearly missed the big event and this after we watched so closely. First light and morning mist gave way to cold, grey nothing days. The bare earth and brown sticks gave us no hope for anything more fruitful than the brief warmth of a bonfire. This then extinguished; cold water poured out on us from above. Sodden, having nothing to show for our ill conceived excursion, we trudge home again. Then a blaze of brilliance breaking out, a single bud burst from its casket of darkness. A bright lance; a conquering knight leading his followers out, light led the way and broke out of the tomb. The darkness was put to pay. Overwhelmed with where to look next; so fierce, so vibrant and verdant was that first flush that we had to avert our eyes. Before we knew it, a blossoming blush was spreading out and upon the air, a sweet perfume, heavy with promise. This could only mean one thing…the harvest would come. A miracle before our very eyes and wine for the wedding.
Autumn harvest rush
Sealed bliss - sweat red first kiss
Better yet, your love.
