You can slide out the sleeve in a video case
and swap it with another one.
The case has no identity.
Give it a label and that's what it is.
A sitcom can become a slasher
or vice versa. I think about women
who use make up in layers,
and men who wear shirts with guitars on the front.
Sitting at my desk in gray pyjamas
this seems like a metaphor.
One I should write a poem about.

Really love this one, Jack. And that ending was great, the way you broke the fourth wall letting us catch a glimpse of your precipice of insight... it was a great reflection and loop back
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

This reminds me of something I used to enjoy very much. Two things really. You talk about changing the genre by changing the case. Do you ever watch a video, and turn the volume down on that while having another video playing in a hidden tab with the volume on? Or have both sounds going, and when one gets quiet the other feeds in. There's different ways to set it up, but it can create unique moods. The other thing I used to do, I'd rent a movie and hide pictures and poems about it under the part the disc sticks in, wondering if anyone would ever know. If you tried to inspire poetic ideas with things like the first I was talking about, I'd like to hear what you can come up with.

I don't think I've ever tried those things you mentioned, except maybe turning down the volume on one video while listening to a second in another tab, though I've never really thought about it. Thanks for your interesting comment, rowens
