As a white American I grew up telling people I was 5% Cherokee only a year ago for ancestry.com to tell me I've no native American of any kind. I've always had a fascination with the Americas history and romanticize it too easily. I probably woulda tried to walk 600 kilo miles back home too.
I like the animation, thought I was about to hear a documentary of sorts, the music is alright I won't go searching for the artist though.

Just read the Wikipedia article on Chanie Wenjack. We were born in the same year. The story of his attempt is heartbreaking.
Here's a Maclean's article, written a year after his death: https://www.macleans.ca/society/the-lone...e-wenjack/

On thursday, ground penetrating radar discovered 751 unmarked graves at a residential school in Saskatchewan. This is in addition to the 215 graves discovered in British Columbia in May. Sadly, it's only the tip of the iceberg and similar exploration is already planned in the U.S. I'll leave you guys with another track from the "Secret Path" LP https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qPv0oSXy7bQ

Interesting and similar to the “stolen generation” of indigenous children in Australia. Particularly those that were mixed race.
But that ended in the 60s/70s. Canada till 1996? That’s mental. |
