Just a place for members to prattle on about their days or converse with other poets.

While there probably isn't much point now as most have either died or left I would like to bring it up again
and not just because it was voted down but as a point of discussion amongst whoever is left:

Both billy and leanne were against it (I can't remember what Todd's position was)

The arguments against it: 

• it would suffer from trollery and tomfoolery and be too much work for the mods
  
• We already have areas for member discussion
  
• We have the sewer and the Pig's arse as unmoderated prattle
  

there may have been more but I don't remember.

My counter arguments were:

• no argument here, there might be some trollery or tomfoolery, I was willing to take on the extra work if necessary
  
• The areas for discussion seem targeted around topics and sometimes members just want to socialize with others with similar interests
  
• Both the sewer and the pig's arse have some negative connotations as a free for all and wouldn't actually fill the spot.

I'll be renewing something for the site on Dec 29. I've been assured by the webhost that it shouldnt cause any disruptions to the forum, but on the off chance it does that would be the reason why. Rest assured that if the Pen does experience any disruption the 29th, it shouldn't be down for long.

Why don't posts in the 'haiku, short poetry forum' not count towards your actual posts? I know it changed from back in the old day when every post counted but then it changed to just the critique forums, which is fair enough, I understand the reasoning. The short poetry forum is still a critique forum and I have received some excellent critiques there and spent a bit time giving critiques.

I'm not looking to increase my post count, but back in the day it didn't seem to make much sense and I never asked why.

When we checked out the report center, there were several unanswered reports.  We have dealt with anything that seemed to still be relevant.  We would like to formally and humbly apologize that your reports were not answered in a timely manner. Going forward, we will be more vigilant about checking the report center, as the report alert bar is currently malfunctioning. 

For the time being, it might be quicker/more reliable to alert us via pm if you have poems that need to be moved/deleted, or if a post is breaking rules, etc.  I promise that we are always willing and happy to help no matter what the problem is.  If you aren’t sure which of us will be online soonest, you can even send a group pm to all of us and the first one here will take care of it.
