Poetry Reading - Richard - 02-09-2019 Hey all, I've been asked to take part in a local poetry reading. I've never done anything like this before, so I wonder if anyone has any suggestions? Thanks, Richard RE: Poetry Reading - milo - 02-10-2019 (02-09-2019, 12:59 PM)Richard Wrote: Hey all,Suggestions on what? What to wear? Might I suggest a beret? Perhaps a turtleneck as well? When to show up? Fashionably late. What to drink? If the are serving, select a California red and frequently compare it unfavorably to other wines you’ve tried in Paris. If they are not serving, Evan Williams bottled in bond bourbon(the white label) in a flask. When to clap? Politely and often. RE: Poetry Reading - ellajam - 02-10-2019 Ha, milo, even I'm not that old. Richard, I've never done one but I would expect the biggest hurdle would be nerves. Maybe video yourself a few times reading so that you can relax into the poem, and maybe read to friends. Good luck with it, the first time is probably the hardest. RE: Poetry Reading - billy - 02-11-2019 speak clearly and drink a lot. speak with emphasis depending on the mood of the poem.
