If he’s your mate, please still abate,
I care not to what you pretend,
just quit rushing to his defense,
as if he is really your boyfriend.
He’s a big boy now -you know-
so there’s just no use in pretending.
Really….no, he can take care of himself,
he needs not your ardent defending!

About the caretaking attitude on another site, so severe that not even a slightly negative word may be implied. In several instances (straight) men were rushing to defend (straight) men, lest they get their feelings hurt. I had left a crit on a poem by a friend of mine, someone I had known for years, and some male sycophant of his threatened to have me thrown off the site. The real kicker was this guy told me I knew nothing about poetry when he had no conception of what I was talking about, and castigated me for using such nonsense terms as "dactyl". It was great fun, but it gets so repetitious. I did as I usually do and wrote a poem about it :p
is this poem about mark and jack Hysterical
isn't a dactyl a dinosaur called terry?
