Commenting on comments
#1
Everyone, when you are in a poetry thread, please comment only on the poem.  Please do not comment on other comments.  Even if you are the OP, you must not comment on the comments or rate them or criticize their usefulness or accuracy.  You can reply to them to some extent to answer a question or clarify, but you cannot comment on the comments or critique their quality.  This is one of our main rules.  No matter how much you might disagree with another member’s assessment of a poem, you should not comment on that comment but simply leave your own quality critique, or if it is your own poem, say thank you and move on.  Please please please keep all comments focused on the poem.  If you have anything else to say, please say it in the sewer, that is the purpose for which it was made. If you think a comment is trolling or breaks our rules, then please report the comment or pm a moderator.  If you leave a critique for the purpose of baiting a member into some sort of battle or to troll them, that is also against our rules. You can literally have a poetry battle in the arse, or duke it out in the sewer.  If you do it in the poetry threads it becomes my problem and then it is bothersome. Please, be professional and courteous in the poetry threads.  Be kind or take a break.

Thank you.

At this point several people have done it.  This is just a friendly reminder. I won’t delete what’s past, but moving forward it would help me a lot if we can separate poetry from other things.  Keeping the poetry threads strictly about poetry is just about the only thing we have left from the old days.  If we lose that, then I lose my purpose here. Wink
