Upcoming Event: NaPoMo-NZ
#1
October is soon to be turning milo's forum into a house of fun and horror.

This is our first year to fully celebrate New Zealand's National Poetry Month, hosted by Mercedes. It's always fun to explore NZ through her poems so the chance to join in through her prompts  promises an interesting and challenging month.

All registered members are welcomed to participate in these events. Our skill level may vary greatly but everyone loves fun, a bit of torture and the oppotunity to write and read a slew of new poems. Head over to milo's forum, NaPoMo-NZ starts October 1. Consider yourselves invited and forewarned. Big Grin

i take it's not in depth feedback so that people can just enjoy themselves?

It's all about fun - if anyone wants a poem from the thread workshopped, they're free to (and welcome to) post it again in a workshop thread.
Poetry can be dangerous, especially beautiful poetry, because it gives the illusion of having had the experience without actually going through it.

Big Grin Our last post from Mercedes:

Topics 16 & 17: Pose a question, somehow referencing NZ,  in a poem or a stanza.  Answer the question, as if someone else, in another.

Yeterday and today I packed up my home, moved it a few miles along the coast, heading towards the equator, and unpacked it again. Almost. Oh the changes-of-addresses, the notifications, the forwarding, the new services that aren't turned on, as promised, new neighbours, new small kindnesses, new neighbourhood. No poems from me for these two days. I'm blown away by what's been written in the thread lately. Go, you!
Seems she had more trouble staying connected than anticipated. While we're waiting, feel free to keep writing on the current NZ threads (the prompts are certainly rich enough to write a second poem) or if anyone thinks of a new prompt that suits the theme you are welcome to post it.

Don't fret, JM, we'll be here when you return. Smile
