wikileaks founder such a nice guy

that too is a lot of balls.

people on rule 43 still have to eat, if he is on rule 43 he'll be locked up on the nonce wing with child molesters.
he can if he is put there for his own protection allowed to ask to be put in the main prison wings.

personally i doubt his ego would let him be locked up with the nonces.

hopefully someone will through cup of boiling prison tea in his face in order to make a name for themselves.

and the authorities again couldn't give a toss, they won't get the blame. the odds are he won't be harmed. though i hope i'm wrong Wink

The guardian link above tells that he is on the nonces wing, BBC report the same, apparently he is single celled so he'll be safe there but the razor blades and hot sugar will get him on his way for food, don't know about Sweden but he will almost certainly get abused if he stays, they got to Huntley and all the other high profile sex offenders

The British justice system is quite methodical, and it may take as long as two years before they get around to honouring an extradition request.

then he has his appeals to the European courts if all goes pair shaped, he apparently wanted the Sweeds to interview him at there embassy in London but they weren't up for that which seems quite strange as it would save the most amount of hassle for all parties.

so does that mean he'll languish in out nick for two years ?
i can't see that, an appeal to his incarceration failed didn't it.
i reckon a few months at most.

i can't see him wanting to wait two years before getting in front of a judge.
if thats the case then i hope he goes through every court there is. as an alien and one who is prone to flight, no court in the west would grant him bail. or force a court to try him outside their jurisdiction. that will only happen should the uk and swedish courts agree to it. or whichever court sweden feels is capable (normally it would be court of residence (australia in this case) but i can't see it happening.

Hell be out on bail when he gives an address (tagged with a six figure assurity), the UK can only try murder cases from anywhere and stuff like war crimes, they let that Asian man accused of murder in Africa out the other day on £250K bail so the rape is a minor in comparison, I think he wants to be in jail cause he did not put up any sort of reasonable argument for bail except offering a PO box address........................

first off if you read this thread, you'll see i don't think the guy guilty of rape, just stupidity and egotism. secondly that write more or less says the same thing i do about the leaks.

the write up doesn't say it dislikes assange and doesn't state it likes him either. i can't stand the little prick and neither it seems can a lot of his ex co workers; i wonder why that is?

as for what assange's lawyer says in the link you put up: he would say that, he's the man's lawyer for god sake, him saying that won't get assange out of jail will it. it just makes us giggle at those who believe a single word that lawyers say.

it also seems sj has a similar opinion of the man hehe

Well either way he and his team successfully set up a good whistle blowing website that has revealed a lot of things that we wouldn't know otherwise (not even the cables). You can't take that from them, no matter how much you hate him.

yes i can, i just put a wall st journal post up where his fellow workers said he had a political agenda. that wikileaks wasn't accountable and isn't the new form of journalism and that basically did it all wrong. the reason they gave...assange who in 2007 printed essays on how he more or less wanted to overthrow the usa gov. sounds like he had a napolean complex and wanted to rule the world.

and did anyone really want to know anything?

oh and all those files assange said were redacted in order to save lives... load of balls. his co workers admitted they weren't.
assange as far as i can tell is now a has been and will rightfully take his place his infamous place in history a lot sooner than i predicted.

by the way again, he didn't have a team they look like they hate him more than i do lmao.
most of them had no say in what went down. (or so it seems)

That is the most obnoxious news title I've seen in a while LOL (but that's a whole 'nother topic...)

He's probably not a nice guy. Not pure evil, just kind of a jerk in general considering what his own peers think of him. However he shouldn't be punished just because of his attitude with a rape charge (if he truly didn't do it). It doesn't seem like any government will charge him with anything since I haven't heard a peep about any concrete move (unless they're still trying to build a case). If he's lucky he'll come out of this with just his ego battered.
PS. If you can, try your hand at giving some of the others a bit of feedback. If you already have, thanks, can you do some more?

No you can't. You can't unmake Wikileaks. His team and him have set it up successfully, you can't change the past.

I think you're extremely biased. I'm guessing he's not the most pleasant fellow but I don't even know him so I don't make such assumptions.

You portray him as the devil and Wikileaks as some sort of evil doing, which I'm afraid I disagree with.

yes i can,

if by successful you mean a site thats fairly and truthfully disseminates leaked information, then they failed, and are a failure at such. this fact doesn't come from me but from wiki leaks own workers who say leaks were not redacted, who say assange was autocratic and biased in his actions.

on the other hand if you by successful you mean badly run, untruthful to it's own meme set within it's own paradigm, then yes i gues they were successful. if you measure success of such a site not by integrity but by the quantity of of what it spews out then yes, it was a success.

personally i think a site that could be brought to its knees by one man something of a failure.

the idea may be a success but he set up failure that was destined to fail. if it was as open and honest a site as they were forcing everyone else to be, now that would have been a real success. so yes i'm biased against him. not so biased against the leaks apart from the fact he and his untruthful persona ran it. at least they too saw him for what he was, i just wish they'd have done something sooner. as i've said if the new leaks sticks to it's principles it's a site i could 100 percent support. but please. don't expect me to follow a site like some demented sheep, that is untruthful in it actions and business plan and is ran by some anti establishment piece of shit who calls himself a journalistic refugee that can't hack it in the real world of journalism. so no i don't think wiki was successful at what it did, the only thing it was successful at was hopefully showing how not to do a leaks site. the next generation will hopefully get it right.

btw did you know they're are lots of leak sites out there. all showing or telling of injustices. some of them do it properly some don't, for me wiki didn't.

so again i say...it failed

I look at it in the sense that it leaked documents that were of some relevance to dealings with governments around the world. Surely the usefulness of them is debatable but wikileaks was the first to become famous and draw attention and much needed support.

Sure, it wasn't run perfectly. But they had a good thing going on and I still think they do. I don't care about all the ballsy speeches that some people give out, I just like to see someone actually releasing stuff that isn't meant to be released. If you think that's a failure then please yourself.

I agree to an extent... however it seems wikileaks drew more attention to itself than to the actual issues it was supposedly exposing and garnering support for. Undecided
