Have you ever sent poems to your crush?

Just wondering: have you ever written poems for your crush and send them to her (or him)? Do you have any particular experiences you'd like to share in this regard? Tongue

I'm not fond of writing love poems, I think to pull off a well-written love poem takes talent. I have attempted it and gave it to an ex boyfriend, he threw it away and I broke up with him.

It was kind of weird. She pressured me into writing one for her. So in a sense, yeah, I did send a poem to my crush. Don't really like doing that though.

lots and lots. But indeed they are difficult to write (cliches).
the first stuff I wrote was indeed erotic "poetry" (leaning mostly on the Shir Hashirim: "Your two breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle, which feed among the lilies.")

lots. and mainly they were wedges of cheesy shite. really bad overly laden pieces of clich├ęd clutter i did a spate of them about 12 years ago, and yes i like a mad impetuous fool sent them via yahoo messenger. at the time i thought they were works of art. now i know they were works of Satan. needless to say, the woman i wrote them for loved them, so much so that we moved in together i haven't wrote a poem in the ten year physical relationship we've had so far. perhaps i should. a good bad love poem can loosen a person up more than a bottle (type booze of choice here)

I think the closest I can remember was writing a prose for my best friend who happened to be my ex-gf. Idk if that counts or not.

I know, I was livid. It just told me his true feelings, so I'm glad it ended and it wasn't years later married with two kids then finding out.
I believe when someone writes you a poem that is from the heart then it should be cherished, as corny as that sounds.

Yes, but spilling your heart is always risky. I was just instantly moved by your above comment. When I write love poetry these days I write them in a way that they can be also read (and of course hopefully liked ;-) ) not only by my lover.
cheers

I don't really write love poems to begin with, it either comes out too mushy, cliche, or just graphic. I think to pull of a love poem that's amazing, you have to have good inspiration to work with and I think that's where the risk comes from. How you interpret the love probably won't be how they interpret it. I think that's probably what happened in my case.

love scares people and a poem shows em just how deep the well is for you. it's an interesting and awesome concept but in practice usually doesn't yield the desired results.

Your experiences are your's. I tend to disagree with your generalizations. But as I mentioned above: they are risky but life is too, no?
:-) cheers.

i would have loved some love poetry when i was a young guy. Big Grin
all i ever got was "you bastard" over the telephone Blush

you bastard could be punk love poem. But I assume the female voice on the phone was not inclined,
In the 80ies there was female punk band (at Frankfurt) and one of their songs was: Hau ab, du stinkst!. (Fuck off, you stink !)
Compared to that I find "bastard" quite acceptable.
