why do people believe in them.
are they real in any way what so ever?
do you read them? does your parents or friends?
There's no reason why they should be believable, not in this day and age. But my sister finds them pretty convincing, at least the part about your birth month affecting your personality. Sometimes they do match up, but anyway that's how a lot of "psychics" and such pass for the real deal, right? If you're right enough times (even if its by chance) then you have "proof".
ok lets guess what everybody is by the drivel they post
funny how everyone knows their star sign lol.

most of the women in my life read their horoscopes, most of them half believed them.
i used to read them to prove em wrong. the worst ones were the generic ones that said the same thing
for all twelve star signs in a different way. personally i think they're a load of crap
In terms of personality, yes, I can see it - I even have this theory of mashed-up astrology (where your overall personality is based on your Zodiac Sign and Chinese Zodiac Sign combined). but predicting the future? Nope.

Aries Mar 21 - Apr 19 Applying tactics found in classic American folktales to your problems seemed like a good idea, but it turns out collection agencies have gotten wise to the old Tar Baby trick.
Taurus Apr 20 - May 20 You'll try to set the world afire with the unbridled passion of your incandescent prose, but fail so badly you're hailed as the next John Updike.
Gemini May 21 - Jun 21 In the end, you won't wish you'd done anything differently; you'll just wish you hadn't had to do anything.
Cancer Jun 22 - Jul 22 You thought having a cat would be fun, but it's been 10 days and it hasn't even gotten itself anything to eat yet.
Leo Jul 23 - Aug 22 Love ends, sometimes bit by bit, sometimes suddenly, but it does end. That said, it's unusual for it to jump off a bridge like that.
Virgo Aug 23 - Sep 22 Mercury rising in your sign indicates that things are getting hotter, as the mercury has expanded, causing it to rise up the thermometer.
Libra Sep 23 - Oct 23 Don't let people tell you that you can't be anything you want in life. Surgical techniques and gene-grafting will soon allow anyone to assume giraffe form.
Scorpio Oct 24 - Nov 21 Somehow you always thought that when you got to a certain age the clothes would be a lot better.
Sagittarius Nov 22 - Dec 21 Life may be a series of small and inevitable defeats culminating in death, but look at it this way: You won't have to put up with as much of it as most people.
Capricorn Dec 22 - Jan 19 You thought there was nothing in life that the music of Al Green couldn't fix, but then you found out about reactor meltdowns, crop failure, and cardiac embolisms.
Aquarius Jan 20 - Feb 18 You will soon get a nicer job selling higher-quality sweatpants to a somewhat better class of people.
Pisces Feb 19 - Mar 20 This will be a week of surprise after surprise, which will become tiresome after a few hours, terrifying after a few days, and unspeakable after that.

Just for fun give this a go addy, and let us know if it resembles you.
Virgo

Ya, but mine's the best Gemini Wink
Describing me to the T except for labelling me unreliable which couldn't be further from the truth.
'tis total bollocks
i agree totally
I won't say I believe in it, though I think there is a bit truth to it. I'm not talking about the weekly,"do this" ... "don't do this" stuff.
The moon, stars and sun do effect the planet and things within it. There's been evidence that during full moons animals and touched people are affected.
Some farmers today still plant by the signs.
I remember a couple of years ago when my husband and I were out fishing, we were heading back to shore when while crossing the lake the fish began to surface ... so much so that they were almost jumping into our canoe. With the full moon on the rise, there was a warm breeze, and we could see perfectly so we decided to stay out longer. The fish by this time were jumping to the point of being ridiculous but showed absolutely no interest in the bait. As the moon rose higher and higher the geese began to honk, the loons were calling, ducks quacking, in the distance on shore we could here dogs barking, cyotes howling, cows mooing, sheep and goats bahing. It was hillarious and freaky at the same time.
So to some extent I do believe that the placement of the moon and sun during our birth or maybe it's more during the time of conception that we are pre-disposed to certain characteristics. Then with lifestyle, parental and social conditioning we are also formed into our being.
it's one thing to say the moon has influence on nature[i agree]quite another to say constellations at the time of our birth influence our psyche

quite intriguing to figure why one person should be so different from the other though,my son and daughter are totally different, grew up under the same circumstances........

I personally don't find it that hard to believe. I find it intriguing and facinating to a degree.

As with my two children ... a boy and a girl and as different as day and night. I had them very close together and so made no distinction between them as far as rules, chores etc go ... yet still they show no resemblance of coming from the same household.
There are aspects of them that are just there ... so maybe the timing of their birth played at part in that.
I know my husbands weaknesses and his strengths (he's an Aquarius) I've read all about his sign and there are some things that are just so Aquarius about him that I don't even try to cause him to make changes in certain areas. At the same time understanding that these good and not-so-good traits make up an aquarius helps me to better understand him and to have patience.
Knowing about my not so good traits gives me incentive to overcome them and also acceptence of them when I fail.
I just don't completely rule out the possibility that there could be some truth in it. I think when we are open to other possibilities it broadens our scope of understanding.
I've never been a black and white sort of person ... I spend more time in the grey areas.
obviously a Sagittarius Hysterical

i'm an aquarian though i too deem h/scopes a lot of testicles.

why do people pay to have them read? is the need to know something that great?
(and keep it sensible please)

hmm, sounds like fish drivel ;fish;
ahem,let's keep this serious

mrmod

I'm quite a superstitious person (mainly when everything goes all wrong) but I don't believe in horoscopes. I mean considering most of physics has explained the movement in space it kind of nullifies it.
twins?

I not care for horoscope very much, except for light amusement.
But even then it not so funny. Horoscope big disappointment, except for little girls. Dodgy
