Hi! I am new and wanted to introduce myself. I love to read and write poetry and fiction although my primary interest so far has been in the speculative genre (fantasy, horror, science fiction). But I am trying to branch out into more mainstream topics. I write mostly to entertain and for escapism but want to get more philosophical. Anyway, here are a couple acrostics to help you get to know me better. One is called "I AM ADAM" and the other is "I LOVE FANTASY".

Well I think that's fine. I'm more of a reader too. The way I see it: if everyone just wanted to toss of poems into the air with no readers, this site would be boring. The discussing is the fun, right?

I changed computers and couldn't log in from my new one - found the emails in the 'pending out' of an email account I didn't ever use.
I thought you were all sick of me!

I like all sorts of poetry but my favourite authors are John Hegley and Wendy Cope.

Hello, I started writing poetry at 16, was pretty serious about it until I got married at 27. Sunday poet until I retired at 62. Just after retirement, did a stint working with cut-ups (promise,no cut-ups will be proffered here!). Nine months ago my son died of a accidental drug overdose, and the Muse began to return, a bit slowly at first, but now she's whipping me to work every day. Almost immediately felt the need to be read and get some idea if this was poetry or whatever not-poetry should be called. As to my reading taste, I'd probably be called a post-modernist fossil.
Checked out some other forums but this one felt special, especially after reading the first poem in Basic (at the time anyway) Pathos.
P.S. Billy, you can ignore my email because, obviously, I got registered. A friend 800 miles away was able to do it. Go figure.
