  • Posting images of mutilation, child pornography, killing etc.
  • Spamming our boards -- this includes posting links to your own webpages etc if you have not interacted in a meaningful way on our boards.
  • Trolling, flaming or persistent off-topic posts (except in the appropriate forums)
  • Using the boards or the PM system to carry out vendettas or otherwise seek to cause trouble for another member
  • Arguing with, ignoring or spoofing modcalls -- our moderators work hard to keep this site free from parasites

Things that are NOT and never will be banned at The Pig Pen:
  • Sarcasm
  • Irony
  • Clever, witty remarks and repartee
  • Honest, constructive criticism -- even if you think your poem is too precious to be touched. There are sites out there who will love you. We don't.
  • Individual personalities and styles
  • Political incorrectness -- though we may ask you to move it into the Sewer or the Pig's Arse
wtf is irony?
It's something that goes rusty.
I think it's a bird found off the coasts of the Galapagos Islands.
That's a booby -- and of course they're welcome here too.

Leanne, these rules are well thought out and I do appreciate you posting them, but do you think we can get an exemption to the not loving them part?
No. They don't bring cookies.

Well thank god for that! I love any place that welcomes boobies!
Oh, the irony.
That lake in Leanne's poem was rather irony with 1/2 a Datsun, several shoppinng trolleys and a bed-head swimming in it!
dehydrogenated European shag
is that the carpet you've used in your living room, ray?

The Jester

What's the dealio with swearing?
Sorry, I'm new, and I'm sure there's a thread somewhere that will explain this to me. But if I'm completely honest, I'm really lazy.

Is swearing ok as long as you tag the title, or is it not allowed on regular poetry boards at all?

And just for the record, I brought cookies.
I don't go anywhere without cookies.
And a fork, in case there's cake.

If swearing is.called for we swear. Like gentlemen. (Except for Leanne who swears like a one legged prostitute on a bender)
You only need to tag the title if the content is explicit -- the odd swear word doesn't count. Neither does an even swear word. Anyone who's offended by colourful language probably shouldn't be here.

And yay! Cookies!

billy always eats the cake before anyone else gets here
Sarcasm can get you called names, even if your purpose was to jokingly inform someone that they must review a poem before they post one to be work shopped or ask them why they would need help analyzing a poem that they wrote themselves.

Don't let their ignorance stop you upholding the rules, Chris. Your questions are our questions also.

OK, I won’t. I thought that I may have spurred the retort, but I noticed the strange query asking for analysis rather than critique. It was also in serious workshop, while the individual loitered for hours leaving no reviews. I honestly thought that I was doing them a favor.
i have no idea what you're on about Hysterical

but if you see someone posting a poem who hasn't left feedback elsewhere, say something in a post. i for one will appreciate it should see it :J:
