This is my 52'nd and your correct they seem to be. They are also not the same anymore. Christmass when i was small was a very special thing and no matter how hard I try I can't get that back. I look around and all i see is a commercial event for people to make money on. Whats worse is the fact that the stores don't even go to the bother of hanging up the lights anymore. Sale signs in windows....boxing day advertised allready. It sucks really unless you still have small kids and they still beleive in Santa. LOL...those were the day's....when Santa was king.Big Grin
Christmass really has changed and i am sure that even for the little ones it can't possibly be the same, ofcourse they don't know that unless some knuckle head has already ruined it for them and pulled the old there is no santa clause for fear of haveing to part with a few bucks while useing the excuse that telling them the truth is more important. I say bullshit you cheap so and so.Smile

i agree.

i wish i could be there for my grandkid's xmas.
it was always a great tradition when our kids were small.
having grandkid's means you can do it all again
unless you live halfway round the world.
they're still at the, i believe in santa age. well one of them is :p
i don't really know how many, since we used to celebrate st.nicholas when i was young, not christmas.where i live now it could go by without me noticing ,but usually some english friends of mine will drag me in for a drink or 2 and get all sentimental.

Perceptions of time are relative to age.
When you were 10 years old, a year was a long time, 10% of your life.
Now that you are past 50, a year just flies by,
since it represents less than 2% of your life experience.

This is my 61st Christmas. Sad
yep, but knowing it doesn't slow it down lol.
looks like your our father figure so far.
have to say i think you rather sprightly in your writing for a 61er. :p
i never had a hippie dad before :p
i was just a street kid who lacked an education.
all i have is a little bit of life experience.
has age mellowed you out any?
it has me, by an enormous amount.

kentucky-kid

this is only my 18th christmas Sad
how i envy the wisdom of youth.

hope you have many more of them KK

kentucky-kid

heh hopefully i will. what you plan to do for christmas?
gonna have dinner in a couple of hours with my partner. at midnight, which is in about 5hrs and 20 mins i'll take her out for a drive along manila bay front.
tomorrow her kids are back from visiting their gran and we'll have xmas day together. karaoke and stuff like that. i'll have a few glass of wine but no vodka lol.

will ring my kids family and friends at 8 am because then it will be midnight in the uk.
on sunday go on a short road trip to have an english breakfast.
and enjoy the company of those i love who can be with me and think of those i love who i can't be.

So there...look at what fairy tails have done for this well mannered Young man. Never a word spoken out of place and concerns are only monetary based. A fine example of a well brought up young person. His parents need to be congratulated on a job well done. They have to be fine upstanding citizens I am sure. Maybe someone adept with photo shop could take the time to do up a plague for them. Parents of the year or some such thing. Cool
